Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration
The mountain standard

The leading shingle in our service area and one of the most widely installed products in the mountain West. The TruDefinition Duration line offers rich color depth, excellent dimensional profile, and the lowest warranty claim rate in the industry. As an Owens Corning Network Contractor, HighPeak Roofs can offer enhanced warranty coverage above the standard manufacturer warranty on qualifying installations.

Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration FLEX
Storm-rated upgrade

The Duration FLEX is an SBS-modified shingle, meaning a rubber-like polymer is blended into the asphalt during manufacturing. This gives it superior flexibility in cold temperatures, stronger resistance to hail impact, and more weight per square than the standard Duration. For mountain homes that experience significant freeze-thaw cycling and seasonal hail, the FLEX upgrade is a strong investment at a modest price increase.

CertainTeed Presidential Shake DL and TL
Premium shake look

The Presidential Double Laminate (DL) and Triple Laminate (TL) are the go-to choice for homeowners who want the look of cedar shake without the fire risk or building code issues. Ranging from 350 to 480 pounds per square, these are among the heaviest and most substantial shingles available. They carry wind and fire protection ratings, an Energy Star rating, and are accepted by most Summit and Eagle County HOAs that required cedar shake on the original structure. If your HOA or design review committee has specific requirements, we have the experience and relationships to get it approved.

What makes our shingle installs different
The shingle brand matters, but installation quality matters more. Here is what we bring to every job.
Factory-trained installation crews
Required for enhanced Owens Corning warranty eligibility. Our crews are trained to manufacturer standards, not just general roofing practice.
Proper underlayment and ventilation
Shingle longevity depends as much on what goes underneath as the shingle itself. We never cut corners on ice and water shield, felt, and ridge vent.
Zero defects on Duration installs
We have never had a product defect claim on an Owens Corning Duration installation. That track record reflects both product quality and installation discipline.
Insurance restoration experience
Most shingle replacements in our service area involve a hail or wind claim. We have strong relationships with adjusters and a proven process for getting claims approved.

Shingle roofing questions, answered
Common questions from homeowners choosing shingles for a Colorado mountain home.
HighPeak Roofs installs Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration, Owens Corning Duration FLEX (SBS-modified storm-rated), and CertainTeed Presidential Shake Double Laminate and Triple Laminate. Each is selected for performance in Colorado's high-altitude mountain conditions.
The Duration FLEX is an SBS-modified shingle, meaning a rubber-like polymer is blended into the asphalt. This makes it more flexible in cold temperatures, more resistant to hail impact, and heavier than the standard Duration. For mountain homes with freeze-thaw cycles and seasonal hail, the FLEX upgrade is worth the modest additional cost.
The CertainTeed Presidential DL and TL are high-end, thick-profile shingles weighing 350 to 480 pounds per square. They replicate the cedar shake look while offering fire protection ratings and an Energy Star rating. They are popular in Summit and Eagle County HOAs that require a consistent cedar shake aesthetic across the neighborhood.
Standard asphalt shingles typically last 20 to 30 years in mountain conditions depending on exposure, ventilation, and product grade. The Duration FLEX and Presidential lines perform at the higher end of that range. Proper underlayment, ventilation, and installation quality are as important as the shingle product for long-term performance.
As an Owens Corning Network Contractor, HighPeak Roofs can offer enhanced material warranties on qualifying Duration installations above the standard manufacturer warranty. All labor is backed by a workmanship warranty. Specific terms are included in every written estimate.
